Hey, First-Gen Fam!
I'm glad that you've taken a moment to drop in. I am Dr. Eve Hudson and a very proud native of Charlotte, North Carolina. As the oldest of three reared by a single mother in a low-socioeconomic household, I went on to become a first-generation college student and eventually earned a Ph.D. at the age of 28. After years of professional service in higher education, I "took the leap" and began my social entrepreneurial journey.
Learning to turn my passions and gifts into meaningful work endeavors, The Purpose Professor Limited Liability Company (a development entity that specializes in personal transformation) was born. Nine percent of net profits go toward helping first-generation college graduates who are experiencing hardship, pursuing higher education, and endeavoring to be entrepreneurs.
Documenting a part of my life's journey with my first book1865, I open up about facing adversity and navigating the complexities of transitioning into adulthood. In building community for fellow first-gens, The First-Gen Lounge came to be--this is a space where we, first-generation college graduates, come together to talk about navigating life.
Why does all of this matter? Well... it is because I know my life's mission is to inspire, empower, and uplift you (my fellow first-gen) as you navigate adulthood and overcome adversity.
I'm always down for connecting with my people. So, let's link via Instagram and/or LinkedIn. I'm available to you so feel free to hit me up through (email@example.com) or over the phone (980.229.1387), too.
